The Government of British Columbia collects and analyzes information about its fibre flow and operating mills by:

• Undertaking an annual survey of primary timber processing facilities in B.C.
• Analyzing the information it collects on logs harvested in the province
• Reviewing company news releases and media reports

This information is supplemented with information provided in reports by various commercial analysts and through government contacts.
