Payment FAQ - Mineral Titles

For payment transactions in Mineral Titles Online (MTO), MasterCard, American Express, Visa, Visa Debit and Debit MasterCard are accepted. 

If you are paying in person at Mineral Titles Branch, cash or cheque is accepted. Cheques are made payable to the Minister of Finance.

If you are paying in person at FrontCounter BC, the following are accepted:

• Cheques: Must be in Canadian Funds from a Canadian Financial Institution
• Money Orders or Drafts: Issued in Canadian Funds
• Debit Card: In-person only
• Visa, Mastercard and American Express: In-person or over the telephone

Please contact Service BC to confirm what payment options are available before you visit their office. 

Cash or cheque are the payment options for submitting coal payments. Cheques should be made payable to the "Minister of Finance".

• Payments for annual rentals are accepted in the Victoria Mineral Titles office
• Payments for new coal applications are accepted in the Vancouver Mineral Titles office.

Mineral Titles Branch will process the refund in approximately 1 – 2 weeks.

If you paid by credit card, your credit card company will take additional time to process in their system.
