The Ministry of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation is developing a system to make it easier for the public, industry and government to see what's happening in the mining industry throughout British Columbia. The system is called Mines Digital Services (MDS).
MineSpace is part of the MDS system, developed specifically for industry. It is intended to make it easier for business to manage applications, see their inspection history and submit reports.
This system is being developed iteratively and with input from people who operate mines throughout B.C.
Step 1: Register for a BCeID.
Before you begin using MineSpace, you must have a Business BCeID or a Basic BCeID.
For more details on how to register for a BCeID, please visit here.
If you have multiple employees who need to use MineSpace, add them to your Business BCeID.
Step 2: Fill out MineSpace access request form.
Before you can start viewing and working in MineSpace, you need to be assigned access to the mines you are authorized to use. This assignment is managed by the Mines and Digital Services Team for security purposes.
To request access to MineSpace, please fill out the form and submit.
Step 3: Attempt to login to MineSpace.
Once you have completed the above steps, sign into MineSpace with your BCeID.
Step 4: Wait for access grant.
Once the MDS team checks your authorization or references, they will grant access and send you a confirmation email.
If you no longer require access to a mine and wish to stop receiving notifications related to its activities, please contact the MDS team to have your access removed.
All the MineSpace users can view their mine's information and make submission of reports and applications to the mines they have access to.
