Birkenhead Lake FSR 5733

• Recommend 4WD, drive with caution

Blackwater Creek FSR 8354 (access to Birkenhead Lake)

• Recommend 4WD, drive with caution

Brandywine Creek FSR 8079 (access to Brandywine Meadows)

• 4WD access only; seasonally deactivated
• Access Brandywine FSR via the paved Callaghan Road

Britannia Creek FSR 8321 and Furry Creek FSR 8210

• Gate closed; access not managed by ministry staff. For more information contact the Britannia Mine manager at 604-916-1101

Brohm Ridge FSR

• See Cheekye FSR Branch 02 section below 

Callaghan Creek FSR 6102 (access to Callaghan Lake)

• 4WD access only; seasonally deactivated 
• Closed to all motorized vehicles each year from November 1 to May 15 under Section 58 of the Forests and Range Practices Act (FRPA). If the road remains snow-covered after May 15, under authority by the Recreation Sites & Trails BC Recreation Officer, the gate will remain closed until sufficient snow melt has occurred on the established trail (FSR) to allow for safe access by all users

Chance Creek FSR 7704

• Industrial use FSR 

Cheakamus River FSR 3077

• Branch 01 (east side access to Cheakamus Lake)
  • Not plowed in winter
• Branch 03 (west side access to Black Tusk)
  • 4WD access only
  • Gate locked at ~ 4km;  BC Parks has restricted motorized vehicle access past this point
• Branch 09 (access to Jane Lakes)
  • Deactivated. Overgrown; not recommended for vehicles

Cheekye FSR 6527

• Branch 02 - brown signage at the base of road says Brohm Ridge FSR, but the road is technically Cheekye FSR Branch 02
  • Travel on Branch 02 not recommended. Rough, exposed rock, steep sections with limited traction and limited opportunities to turn around. Suggest use of Branch 01, past Cat Lake instead, in order to reach Brohm Ridge
  • 4WD access only; seasonally deactivated
• Branch 01 – access to and past Cat Lake
  • 4WD recommended, watch for industrial traffic (winter 2022 onwards), drive with caution
  • No vehicle access past last yellow gate at ~11km to prevent irreparable damage to the alpine by vehicular traffic; foot access only beyond last gate

• Recommend 4WD, drive with caution

Daisy Lake FSR 9281

• Wilderness FSR

Green River FSR 7979

Haylmore Creek FSR 5694

• Recommend 4WD, drive with caution

Hurley River FSR 7973

• Not maintained for winter conditions
• Hurley Branch 02 (locally referred to as Tenquille Branch 12) deactivated
• Hurley River FSR managed by the Cascades Natural Resource District office (250) 378-8400; for road updates visit isurvivedthehurley.com

In-SHUCK-ch FSR 7343 & Lillooet West FSR 8407 (also known as Lillooet Lake/ Skookumchuck/ Port Douglas)

  • Public use and industrial use FSR

• Lillooet West FSR
  • Road open, 4WD access only; anticipate delays due to equipment working on all sections of the road
• Lizzie Lake Branch 03
  • Road closed at 1km. No access to the Stein Valley
• Sts'ailes (West) FSR (locally known as Harrison West) is managed by the Chilliwack Natural Resource District; for updates visit the Chilliwack District's interactive FSR  map or webpage

Levette Lake FSR 6425 (access to Hut Lake)

• 4WD recommended
• No motorized access to Hut Lake; gated at Levette Lake. Short walk-in to public portion of Levette Lake

Lillooet River FSR 6123 (often called Upper Lillooet FSR)

• ​Unscheduled closures of the road can happen without advance notice if conditions exceed the defined limits of landslide risk. View the Landslide Hazard Information for St'uq'alt's - Upper Lillooet factsheet for closure details, or read the Volcanic Landslide Risk Management document. Any updates to the closure will be noted on this page.
• Expect industrial traffic
• Keyhole Hot Springs and the Keyhole-Líl̓watátkwa7 Trail are closed until further notice. The trail closure is issued by Recreation Sites and Trails BC and the closure of the hot springs is under Notice of Rescission of a Permission to Occupy Crown Land.. Both closures are due to recent wildfire activity that has destabilized the cliffs above the trail and hot springs. In addition the fire has created a very large number of hazardous trees in the area
• Meager Creek FSR is closed indefinitely due to land slide; no vehicle or land access to the hot springs via Lillooet River FSR. See the Meager Creek slide area map

Lillooet South FSR 7977

• Gate at ~24km (Perkins Creek) is closed year round to all public access, for public safety reasons and to minimize negative environmental impacts from unauthorized use at Meager Hotsprings. See public closure notice. 24km is the end of the public FSR
• Meager Creek Hotsprings Recreation Site is closed indefinitely due to public safety concerns. No public access to the hot springs. See the Meager Creek slide area map.

• Construction occurring between 0 - 5km, expect delays. Temporary stoppages may be in effect.

• During winter months, the road is not maintained past 2.8 km

Mystery Creek FSR 10480

Pemberton Creek FSR 8188 Branch 02

• December 1 - May 31 annually: non-motorized winter recreation zoning in the Ipsoot (Miller Creek/ Wasp) area. Access to the winter non-motorized recreation area will be restricted at the Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. gate crossing Miller Creek (approx. 2km) on the Pemberton Creek FSR

Owl Creek FSR 8458

• 4WD access only

Ring Creek North FSR 6782 

• Branch 01 (Northside Connector)
  • 4WD recommended, active industrial traffic, drive with caution

Rutherford Creek FSR 5673 and Rutherford South FSR 10240

• 4WD access only

Ryan River FSR 8015

• Effective year round: motorized vehicle prohibition Ryan River (PDF, 8.3MB)
• Road Permit Road accessing Ryan River FSR - gate closed and locked year round at 4km. No access to Ryan River FSR beyond the gate

Sloquet Creek FSR 6780

• 4WD recommended, watch for industrial traffic, drive with caution
• April 1 - June 15 annually: motor vehicle prohibition  Sloquet Creek (PDF, 4.1MB)

Soo River FSR 7910

• Branch 01 (north) and Branch 02 (south) - Soo River
  • Recommend 4WD, drive with caution
• Branch 03 - 16 Mile Creek / Cougar Mountain
  • Recommend 4WD, drive with caution

Squamish River FSR 9160 and Ashlu / Elaho 

• Squamish River FSR (mainline)
  • Road subject to flooding, washouts and debris slides. Be prepared to overnight in the event of a flood or slide. No stopping between 21km (before Mud Creek) and 25km (Terminal Creek) due to debris/ mud slide risk
  • For real-time river levels, visit the Hydrometric Data Graph for Squamish River. If the graph shows water levels above 4.000m, travel on the Squamish River FSR and the Ashlu or Elaho roads is not recommended. Flooding is likely and the roads may not be drivable until water levels naturally recede
  • Drive with caution; expect industrial traffic 7 days a week
  • Prohibited Motorized Recreation Use in the Squamish, Ashlu, Elaho River floodplains pursuant to Section 58 (1) (b) of the Forest and Range Practices Act (FRPA)
  • View local hazard reports within the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) on their website, or specifically the Upper Squamish Flood Hazard report
• Ashlu Branch 02:
  • April 1 - June 15 annually: motor vehicle prohibition Ashlu River (PDF, 4.2MB)
  • Prohibited Motorized Recreation Use in the Squamish, Ashlu, Elaho River floodplains pursuant to Section 58 (1) (b) of the Forest and Range Practices Act (FRPA)
  • No access beyond bridge at 7km. No anticipated repair date
• Elaho road permit road:  
  • For real-time river levels, visit the Hydrometric Data Graph for Squamish River. If the graph shows water levels above 4.000m, travel on the Squamish River FSR and the Ashlu or Elaho roads is not recommended. Flooding is likely and the roads may not be drivable until water levels naturally recede
  • April 1 - June 15 annually: motor vehicle prohibition Sims Creek (PDF, 3.9MB)
  • Prohibited Motorized Recreation Use in the Squamish, Ashlu, Elaho River floodplains pursuant to Section 58 (1) (b) of the Forest and Range Practices Act (FRPA)
  • The public is advised there continues to be significant safety risk due to falling rocks and burnt trees reaching the road following the 2015 wildfire.  Be aware that rock fall may obstruct the road at any time and block the road for up to several weeks

Stawamus/Indian River FSR 4823

• Active industrial operations, use caution.
• 4WD access only; seasonally deactivated
• Branch 01 (Stawamus/ Indian mainline)
  • August 30, 2024 - December 31, 2024: Road closed to all users at gate at 3km due to construction activities. Single lane alternating traffic 0 - 3km. Expect 20-30 minute delays. Traffic control personnel on site. Road also closed to all users at 34.5km (no access through Indian Arm). Expect further closures through 2026.

  • August 5, 2024 - December 31, 2024: Intermittent road closures 0 - 1.5km, Monday - Friday (except public holidays) 7:00am - 5:00pm for Sea to Sky Gondola powerline installation project. Expect delays. Check in with traffic control personnel at the start of the FSR for details.
• Branch 02 (Shannon Branch to Stawamus Chief and Sea to Sky Gondola) 
  • August 5, 2024 - December 31, 2024: Intermittent road closures Monday - Friday (except public holidays) 7:00am - 5:00pm for Sea to Sky Gondola powerline installation project. Expect delays. Check in with traffic control personnel at the start of the FSR for details.
    • Inquiries regarding Branch 02 road activities should be directed to the Sea to Sky Gondola (Kirby Brown at (604) 892-2550 or email Rob Walter. After hours or emergencies: 604-892-2555).
  • Gate closure at 4.2km in effect; no road access beyond this point. Parking for a limited number of vehicles available at the 4.2km location

Sts'ailes (formerly Harrison West, Chilliwack Natural Resource District)
