The B.C. government is committed to working with its justice system partners to ensure cases, when set for trial, proceed efficiently.
To help meet this commitment, government passed the Justice Reform and Transparency Act. The act includes provision for the creation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on court administration signed by the Attorney General and Minister of Justice and the judiciary. The MOU recognizes that collaboration between government and the judiciary on court administration is necessary to ensure public resources are used as efficiently and effectively as possible.
The B.C. government is also working collaboratively with all levels of court to use advances in technology to improve access to justice for court system participants.
