If you oversee safety sensitive jobs, occupational health specialists will provide medical clearance and guidance for an employee's return to work.
This service helps managers determine if an employee is fit to safely perform their duties when they return to a job designated as safety sensitive. A medical assessment is performed, which may include a review or in-person examination by an occupational health nurse or doctor. The occupational health nurse or doctor may also work with the employee’s doctor to evaluate results.
Support is also available when an employee in a safety sensitive position needs a return to work plan for an illness or injury that can be a safety hazard in the workplace.
