Incentives for cleaner industrial operations
The CleanBC Industrial Incentive Program (CIIP) encourages cleaner industrial operations by reducing carbon tax costs for facilities that can demonstrate their operations are among the lowest emitting for their sector compared to world-leading greenhouse gas emissions benchmarks.
Program update
On April 1, 2024, B.C. is transitioned to a made-in-B.C. Output-Based Pricing System (B.C. OBPS). This transition includes changes to existing reporting and carbon tax obligations, and phasing out of the CleanBC Industrial Incentive Program (CIIP). Elements of both systems will be in place throughout the 2024 transition year.
