The BC Teachers’ Council (BCTC) carries out the review of the teacher education program using a pre-arranged schedule.
The following are the outcomes from each review process.
Process B - changes to an existing program

Proposed Change | The School of Education proposed revisions to its Elementary B.Ed. courses, course credits and program structure. One proposed change reduces the number of credits that a teacher candidate needs to complete from 70 to 65 credits. |

Proposed Change | The School of Education proposed the removal of a mandatory 3-credit elective requirement from the B.Ed. (elementary) program. The proposed change requires teacher candidates to complete 70 credits instead of 73 credits. |

Proposed Change | The Faculty of Education proposed that it create a pathway for First Nations Language Teachers to ladder into the B.Ed. program and complete their degree. The proposal was for phase II of the Developmental Standard Term Certificate program in First Nations Language Teacher Education. |

Proposed Change |
The Faculty of Human, Social and Education Development proposed that it revise the B.Ed. in the Trades and Technology (secondary) program to enable teacher candidates to meet the requirements for the Trades Certificate. Graduates may complete additional coursework to meet the requirements for an unrestricted Professional Certificate. |
