Government Chief Risk Office

Resident in the Risk Management Branch, the Government Chief Risk Office is the central risk management agency responsible for the adoption of risk management policy, processes and practices, and for assuring risks are identified and appropriately managed for the B.C. government and provincial public sector.

Responsibilities

The Government Chief Risk Office is responsible to:

  • Cabinet, for collation and analysis of corporate risks
  • Deputy Ministers' Council, for collation and analysis of ministry Enterprise Risk Management performance reporting
  • Deputy Ministers' Council, for collation and analysis of ministry Enterprise Risk Management maturity reporting

Services

The Government Chief Risk Office:

  • Provides risk management advisory and consultancy services
  • Implements the Enterprise Risk Management corporate standard and policy
  • Helps ministries establish their own risk management programs
  • Supports ministries to improve their risk management practice and maturity through the provision of tools, resources, expertise and facilitation
