Pay Your Premiums

B.C. residents must pay any outstanding Medical Services Plan (MSP) premiums they owe.

You can pay your outstanding MSP premiums:

• by pre-authorized debit
• through your bank or financial institution
• online using your credit card
• at a government office
• by mail

If you're unable to pay, you may qualify for financial assistance programs or you can contact us to discuss a payment arrangement.

Once your payment is received, it takes approximately two business days for your payment to be posted against your account. To check your account information, including your account balance, call 1-877-405-4909.

Before calling, have your MSP account number from your invoice ready, so we can easily assist you.

Pre-Authorized Debit

If you have an outstanding balance for MSP and would like to set up pre-authorized debit (PAD), please contact us to discuss payment arrangements before sending in a completed PAD form.

Call our Customer Service Centre at 1-877-405-4909 (toll-free). Representatives are available:

• Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Once you’ve discussed a payment arrangement with an RSBC representative, complete and sign the Application for Pre-Authorized Debit (PDF) form.

Mail or fax the completed form and a void cheque (don’t staple to form) to:

Through Your Bank or Financial Institution

Most banks and financial institutions offer bill payment services that can be accessed through:

• your online banking account
• an automated teller machine (ATM)
• telephone banking

To pay your outstanding MSP premiums using a bill payment service you need to add a payee for MSP to your bank account. To add a new payee to your bank account you need to know our payee name and your account number.

Payee Name

You should be able to find us listed with your bank under "MSP-RSBC".

Some banks and financial institutions will use a variation of the payee name above. If you can't find us, call your bank for assistance.

Account Number

Your MSP account number is listed on the top of your invoice (e.g. X36012345678).

Online Using Your Credit Card

You can use your Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Debit Mastercard or Visa Debit to make a payment:

• Online through Revenue Services of British Columbia
• By calling 1-877-405-4909

To make a payment you’ll need your MSP account number (e.g. X36012345678) listed on the top of your invoice.

At a Government Office

You can pay your MSP invoice in person at a Service BC Centre. To make a payment you must have your MSP account number (e.g. X36012345678) from your invoice.

Payments are accepted by cash, debit, credit card, cheque, bank draft or money order made payable to the Minister of Finance.

By Mail

You can make payments by cheque, bank draft or money order made payable to the Minister of Finance through the mail. Do not send cash.

To make a payment write your MSP account number (e.g. X36012345678) from your invoice on your payment so your account can be easily identified when your payment is processed and send it to:
