Dependents

Last updated on August 23, 2024

Children 12 years and older must set up their own Health Gateway account.  Check the [Getting Access] for more information.

You can add your child or dependent 11 years and younger to your Health Gateway account.

You will be able to see your dependent’s immunization records, including history and schedule. COVID-19 test results are only available in the classic version of Health Gateway.

Your dependent’s other health records are not yet available in Health Gateway.  Find out other ways to get them.

To add your child to your Health Gateway account:

First confirm that:

  • Your child is 11 years or younger
  • You’re using their BC Services Card, not a CareCard

Follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the “Dependent” menu link in your Health Gateway account

2. Click “Add” in the top right of the page

3. Complete the “Dependent Registration” form with your child’s first and middle name, last name, date of birth, and Personal Health Number (PHN)

4. Click “Register Dependent” at the bottom of the form

If you have issues, check:

  • You have typed their full name exactly as it appears on their BC Services Card, including any middle names. Also, try entering their full name using all capital letters.
  • Your mobile device is not adding extra spaces when completing the online form. You could try using a laptop or desktop computer instead.

If you are still unable to add your child, email us at HealthGateway@gov.bc.ca.

You can't access your dependent's health records once they turn 12 years old. Anyone 12 and older can set up their own account.
