​Pass a message

Family and friends can call the BC Corrections toll-free service line (1-888-952-7968) to request that a message be passed onto an individual.

Privacy

Due to privacy laws, BC Corrections is unable to:

  • Confirm or deny if an individual is in custody
  • Confirm if the individual received your message
  • Compel (make) an individual to return a message

Set up a phone account

Direct phone calls cannot be made to individuals in provincial custody. Individuals can only make outgoing phone calls or receive incoming voicemails from you.

All phone calls are subject to being monitored and recorded except for calls that are privileged such as those with lawyers, the Ombudsperson, Investigations Standards Office and Human Rights Tribunal.

Friends and family can set up a phone service account to:

  • Receive collect calls from someone in provincial custody
  • Leave a voicemail for someone in provincial custody

You can set up a phone service account online through the third-party phone service provider "Synergy". Have your PIN ready. Your PIN is the Correctional Service (CS) number of the individual in custody.

To leave a voicemail for someone in provincial custody, call 1-844-369-7776. You will need the individual’s mailbox ID number. The mailbox ID number is the Correctional Service (CS) number of the individual in custody.
