BC Corrections safely supports individuals 18 years of age or older who are in provincial custody or serving sentences in the community and helps them learn better ways of responding to the world around them.
We operate 10 correctional centres throughout the province that house individuals who are awaiting trial or serving a custodial sentence of less than two years.
Probation officers at 52 Community Corrections offices across B.C. seek better outcomes for individuals under court-ordered supervision in communities.
BC Corrections wants to make a difference in people’s lives, and we are committed to helping them change their thinking and behaviour. We help individuals gain education and work skills, access culturally appropriate services and plan for their future success.
We also deliver programs for individuals who need support with substance use disorders, violence and relationship violence prevention, and essential life skills.
