Customize your account preferences in eTaxBC

You can customize your account preferences in eTaxBC by:

• Changing your password
• Managing your email preferences
• Adding your payment channel information
• Removing your payment channel information

Change your password

To change your password to your account:

1. Log on to your eTaxBC account
2. Select Change Password
3. Enter password information
4. Select OK

Manage your email preferences

To manage your email preferences:

1. Log on to your eTaxBC account
2. Select Manage My Profile
3. Select the More... tab
4. Select Manage Email Preferences under the Email Preferences tab
5. If you no longer want to receive any emails from eTaxBC, uncheck the box(es) under Send Reminder Emails. Please also note that PST accounts now have the ability to select different return reminder schedules
6. Select Next
7. Select Submit

Add your payment channel information

Before you can make a payment in eTaxBC, you must add a payment channel (your bank account information). Payments can only be made through Canadian Financial Institutions. You can add as many payment channels as you need.

To add a payment channel:

1. Log on to your eTaxBC account
2. Select Manage My Profile
3. Select the More... tab
4. Select Manage Payment Channels under the Payment Channels tab
5. Select Setup New Payment Channel under the individual or business you want to setup the payment channel for
6. Fill out your banking information with your transit, institution, and account number
7. Select Yes to agree to the Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) Agreement
8. Select Save

Entering your bank account information into eTaxBC won't result in automatic withdrawals from your bank account when you file your return. You must still authorize your payment for every filing period.

Remove your payment channel information

To remove or cease a payment channel:

1. Log on to your eTaxBC account
2. Select Manage My Profile
3. Select the More... tab
4. Select Manage Payment Channels under the Payment Channels tab
5. Select the payment channel you wish to remove
6. Select Remove this payment channel at the bottom
