Coastwise Processors Inc. (Coastwise) produces gourmet canned salmon products.
The company operates Canada’s only Certified Organic canning facility and is the only Canadian producer of organic canned fish products. All of the spring salmon used is grown in the Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve on Vancouver Island, which produces an excellent quality fish with a mild taste and silky texture. By combining the pioneering of aquatic organic rearing practices and the traditional methodology for processing and preserving salmon, Coastwise has produced a truly exciting new product capable of delighting the palate and uplifting the spirit.
Their flagship product line is the Coastwise Organics canned salmon products, which include: organic spring salmon; skinless/boneless organic spring salmon; and skinless/boneless organic spring salmon With organic maple syrup. Coastwise also offers a canned organic sturgeon product, sourced from fish grown on the Sunshine Coast. All products are produced in a federally-inspected processing plant, using Good Manufacturing Practices and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points to ensure food safety.
Established in 2015, Coastwise is a family-owned company located in Surrey. The company’s founders have been in the fish harvesting, farming and processing business for over 40 years. These founders worked for many years to develop an organic aquaculture industry in B.C. and with the purchase of the cannery, saw an opportunity to develop a truly unique, gourmet B.C. product. All raw materials are obtained from sustainable sources, which have a variety of third party audits to ensure compliance with sustainability principles. Coastwise also has programs in place to minimize and recycle waste.
