Project: Highway 93 and Highway 95 Radium Intersection Improvements

This project involved construction of a roundabout at the junction of Highway 93 and Highway 95 in the Village of Radium Hot Springs. Stantec Consulting Inc. worked with stakeholders to offer solutions to problems involving signage, utilities, requests for field-fitted modifications by the village and traffic incidents.
Stantec Consulting Inc. demonstrated a collaborative approach, and utilized the principals of Gender-based Analysis Plus to communicate effectively with the contractor, public, Shuswap Indian Band and the Village of Radium Hot Springs. Stantec Consulting Inc. delivered a quality project that integrates public infrastructure with private structures in a constrained project footprint.
Project: Highway 1 on Vancouver Island– Southbound Bus lanes: Burnside Bridge to Tolmie Avenue
Location: Victoria
Assignment Contract Value: $795,000
This complex project added a southbound priority bus lane on Highway 1 near Victoria, between Burnside Bridge and Tolmie Avenue, mitigating transit congestion and improving corridor capacity and operations.
The project resulted in increased use of public transit, reduced commutes during peak hours, reduced carbon footprints and ties-in to the local active transportation networks, including the Galloping Goose Trail. Tetra Tech’s successful completion of this project benefits the transportation network of the growing Victoria community.
