Yellowhead Road & Bridge (Fort George) Ltd.

Service Area 19 - Fort George

Yellowhead Road & Bridge (Fort George) Ltd. is responsible for approximately 1,800 kilometers of road, including portions of Highway 16, 97 and 39, as well as 62 bridges. The Fort George contract area contains the main cities of Prince George and Mackenzie, as well as the communities and settlements of Stoner, Red Rock, Summit Lake, Bear Lake, McLeod Lake, Giscome, Upper Fraser, Sinclair Mills, Hutton, Longworth, Penny and Dome Creek.

Yellowhead Road & Bridge (Fort George) Ltd. provides prompt and responsive service during emergency operations, including assisting with response outside of their service area. Yellowhead Road & Bridge (Fort George) Ltd. shows an understanding that their works have an impact on local communities, making efforts to communicate and engage in a proactive manner. Additionally, Yellowhead Road & Bridge (Fort George) Ltd. works collaboratively with local recreation user groups and provides countless hours of volunteer work, materials, equipment and labour to improve recreation areas for all users.

Mainroad Lower Mainland Contracting LP

Service Area 6 - Lower Mainland

Mainroad Lower Mainland Contracting LP is responsible for approximately 1,525 kilometers of roadway including 626 structures including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and sign structures. Located in Surrey’s Cloverdale community with supporting facilities in Delta and Langley, Mainroad Lower Mainland Contracting LP rises to a myriad of road maintenance challenges including communications, traffic monitoring and control, ferry and port terminals, international border crossings, freeways, major bridges, swing bridges and HOV lanes.

Mainroad Lower Mainland Contracting LP has a positive history of handling emergency operations. Some of this includes responding to floods during the Atmospheric River Event of November 2021 on Highway 99, Highway 7, and Highway 10, responding to a tornado that impacted the University of British Columbia and immediately performing tree and debris removal to reinstate key access routes for students, residents and transit buses.

Mainroad Lower Mainland Contracting LP has established productive, proactive and reconciliation focused relationships with local Indigenous communities such as Katzie, Musqueam and Tsawwassen First Nations. Recently they proactively resourced materials and worked with the Semiahmoo First Nation on response and damage to Beach Road caused by King tides. They also provided pumps during rain events and acted quickly on slide response. The contractor also showed their commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in their actions by committing to work with local First Nations to train their crews on archeological Chance Find Training. Mainroad Lower Mainland Contracting LP also promotes gender diversity in management and operational roles.
