Jumping Creek to Jack MacDonald Snowshed

The project involves the design and construction of improvements to the Trans-Canada Highway 1 approximately 40 kilometres east of Revelstoke. The project is adjacent to the recently completed Illecillewaet and extends to the western end of the MacDonald Snowshed.  

Improvements include:

  • 2.6 km of highway upgrades
  • Rockfall and avalanche mitigation
  • Climate change resiliency
  • Median divider and roadside barrier

Status

Design/Construction – anticipated completion spring 2028

Notice of work

November 11 - 22 2024

  • Daily 2-hour closures (6:00 am to 8:00 am)
  • Daily 30-minute stoppages (8:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • No work over the Remembrance Day Long Weekend (from noon on Friday, November 8 to 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12)
