The ministry provides access to various health supplements for recipients and their families who meet eligibility criteria.
Health supplements are available under the Employment and Assistance Act and Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Act.
Eligibility
Effective: January 1, 2020
Recipients of income assistance, hardship assistance, and disability assistance who meet the Ministry of Health residency requirements are provided with medical coverage through Medical Services Plan, and no deductible PharmaCare. The Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction provides specified health supplements to all recipients of income assistance, hardship assistance, and disability assistance who meet the eligibility criteria for each supplement. General health supplements are provided to specific categories of these recipients who meet the eligibility criteria for each supplement.
