B.C. Highway 11 Flood Recovery project was completed in December 2024

COMPLETE - The Highway 11 Flood Recovery Project between Valley Road and Bateman Road was completed in January 2025.

The project scope included:

  • Traffic control
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Archaeological and cultural monitoring with participation by Matsqui First Nation
  • Excavation of the existing road structure
  • Removal and relocation of the existing light weight fill (EPS)
  • Ground improvements using Cutter soil-cement mixing to consolidate the soft soils
  • Placement of the permanent road structure
  • Asphalt resurfacing

Location

  • Highway 11 between Valley Road and Bateman Road

Status

  • First response efforts started in December of 2021
  • Analysis and design completed for each phase of construction
  • Initial recovery work to open Northbound lane took place January to March 2022
  • Southbound repairs took place from August to November 2022
  • Northbound permanent repairs began in June 2024 and completed in January 2025

Schedule

Work began in June 2024 and completed in January 2025.
