B.C. Highway Flood Recovery Projects - Silver Skagit Road

Silver Skagit Road will reopen to the public on April 15, 2025. Construction will continue along the corridor from 10.9 km to 56.7 km; traffic delays may occur.

Construction is underway along the route and will continue for the 2025 construction season to repair the remaining 13 flood damaged sites along the route Silver Lake Campground and Silver Lake Provincial Park are closed to the public for seasonal shutdown until May 1, 2025.

Location

  • Silver Skagit Road – Hope to the Canada/USA border for a length of 58 km

Conditions 

  • Silver Skagit Road will be open to traffic from 6.3 km to 58 km (Canada/USA border) from April 15, 2025 to October 15, 2025

Status

  • Construction contract awarded to Tuya Construction Ltd. on March 12, 2024
  • Construction began on May 13, 2024 and is 46% complete
  • Construction activities are expected to continue along the route through the end of the construction season in 2025
  • Construction will occur at sites 10.9 km, and then again from 23 km to 58 km
  • Traffic will experience some delays along the route at the construction sites as the crews continue to work
