CMS Lite Release Notes - 2019

The following section describes upgrades in previous releases and, where applicable, links to additional information and functionality.

• Fixed an issue with CMS Lite dashboards where Theme names have commas in them
• When using the Mark as Decorative checkbox (for images), the check does not persist after save. This has been fixed
• Other front and back-end changes have been implemented to improve the application

• A help hover text has been added next to the Title fields (Settings tab) to guide authors in writing meaningful titles
• A link to the Accessibility Toolkit has been added to the Help menu
• For authors who manage Service pages:
  • When adding a Custom field, the field would disappear upon a refresh of the page. This has been fixed
  • You can now create Service Bundles of related Services, Simple Services and Information Items from the Chapters tab in the Actions section
• A site-wide alert for Intranet sites has been implemented. To use, create a Notification page on the root folder of your site
• The text for the Search Heading has been increased from 60 to 128 chars
• Other front and back-end changes have been implemented to improve the application

• You now have read-only access to your CMS Lite profile — details about your account (e.g.: history, user group membership, account modification date, account created date, etc). Click on your account name shown in the top right corner to view your profile
• All filters used on the CMS Lite homepage will be remembered when you edit content, and subsequently go back to the homepage (using the Home link, or back button) during your session
• Updated the Flickr feature in the CKEditor. Please refer to the Flickr Instructions tab for details. Note: you do not need to modify your existing Flickr embeds
• Replicants (the grouping and layout of content blocks within CMS Lite) has been enhanced for a better user experience
• For SYSADMINs: error handling has been added for user name changes. See CLD-2889
• For authors who create Service pages: please read this notice about how you can now specify the length to process services
• A bug which prevented the creation of a page under the root folder has been fixed
• Other front and back-end changes have been implemented to improve the application
• Please note: the site-wide alert for Intranet sites has been pulled from this release

• You can now filter for Newsfeeds (a feature which appears on Theme and sub-Theme pages)
• Various fixes have been applied to the Subscription/Notification feature (which is, optionally, used during publication)
  • 1024 characters are now allowed for the message
• The I.A. level of a page is now displayed on the “Settings” tab
• A fix has been applied which now displays the proper UI when you open a page on the “Usage” tab
• Analytics Group Managers can now access CMS Lite
• Other front and back-end changes have been implemented to improve the application
• Note: The site-wide alert for Intranet sites has been moved to the next release

• Functionality has been developed, which allows GDX to configure a page type to be a terminal node (meaning, it cannot have other pages below it). In addition, this feature also allows GDX to specify which page types are allowed as children pages
  • Note: this has been implemented for future use and does not affect pages currently in use in production
• Removal of unnecessary whitespace on the Analytics tab screens
• The image alt tag field (found in the image CKEditor menu, and Right Column promo box) is now optional for decorative images
• Other front and back-end changes have been implemented to improve the application

• On Mar 19, 2019, the GDX Analytics Team made analytics available on CMS Lite pages
  • Click on the Analytics tab to access analytics for the current page, theme, or the full site
    • Since the Mar 19 release, enhancements to the look & feel have been implemented
  • The GDX Analytics Team is offering a series of training webinars starting Wednesday, March 20th. For details, visit analyticswebinar.eventbrite.ca and use the password “Snowplow”
  • Additional documentation for the new service will be available shortly
• When you Open a Page or Asset, the active tab will now be highlighted
• Other front and back-end changes have been implemented to improve the application

• The Usage tab for a given Page has been enhanced to display up to three tables of
  information:
  • Where the Page is being used (existing feature)
  • Which Assets are used on the page (new feature)
  • Which Pages are linked to from the page (new feature)
  • Note: Only content you have access to can be Opened
• Other front and back-end changes have been implemented to improve the application

• The Feature combo-box on the CMS Lite homepage now have additional filters:
  • Use of Alerts
  • Use of Search
