The Great Bear Rainforest (GBR) South Timber Supply Area (TSA) is created from the mainland portions of the former Kingcome and Strathcona TSAs. The Great Bear Rainforest South TSA's current allowable annual cut (AAC) is 830,500 cubic metres as of January 1, 2017.
The Great Bear Rainforest (Forest Management) Act and regulations came into effect January 1, 2017.
Under the regulations, the North Coast, Mid Coast, Kingcome and Strathcona TSAs are replaced by the new and reconfigured Great Bear Rainforest (GBR) North TSA, Great Bear Rainforest (GBR) South TSA and North Island TSA
