Morice Timber Supply Area
Last updated on August 10, 2023The Morice Timber Supply Area (TSA) is on the western edge of British Columbia’s central interior plateau and covers about 1.5 million hectares of the Skeena Natural Resource Region. It extends from Babine Lake in the north to Ootsa and Whitesail Lakes in the south.
The TSA is administered by the Nadina Natural Resource District office in Burns Lake. The main community in the TSA is Houston, while the remainder of the population lives in smaller communities such as Topley and Granisle, or on the many ranches and farms along the Highway 16 corridor and in the area from Owen Lake to Francois Lake.
The Morice TSA’s current allowable annual cut (AAC) is 1,576,043 cubic metres, AAC was adjusted due to First Nations Woodlands Licence (FNWL) N21 removal.
