Kalum Timber Supply Area
Last updated on August 22, 2023The Kalum Timber Supply Area (TSA) in northwestern British Columbia covers about 2.3 million hectares and ranges from the Kitlope River in the south to the lower Nass River in the north.
The Kalum TSA encompasses tree farm licences 1 and 41, part of the Nisga’a private land under the Nisga’a Final Agreement, plus several large protected areas along its outer boundary, including Gitnadoix River Park, Foch Gilttoyees Park and the Kitlope Heritage Conservancy.
The Kalum TSA borders the Nass, Kispiox, Bulkley, Morice and the Great Bear Rainforest North TSAs. It includes the communities of Terrace and Kitimat and is administered by the Coast Mountains Natural Resource District.
The Kalum TSA’s current allowable annual cut (AAC) is 329,024 cubic metres effective June 12, 2018, Chief Forester Order Section 173 of the Forest Act for the Kalum Timber Supply Area.

The Kalum TSA takes in about 2.3 million hectares in northwestern B.C., surrounding the communities of Terrace, Kitimat and New Aiyansh.
