Other transportation infrastructure projects are specific construction, rehabilitation or improvements to highways, bridges, ferries and interchanges.
A four-lane bridge will replace the culvert that crosses under Highway 97 in Cache Creek, approximately 84 kilometres west of Kamloops. Construction started in early 2024.
This project will replace the 8th Street Bridge, located on 8th Street (Highway 2) in the City of Dawson Creek.
Improvements to the George Massey Tunnel’s Reversible Lane Control System is underway to maintain capacity, reliability and operational safety for Highway 99.
The Highway 1-Colquitz River Bridges Widening project will widen and seismically retrofit both existing two-lane bridges over Burnside Road on Highway 1 in Victoria.
The Trans-Canada Highway is the main north-south corridor on Vancouver Island and serves as a critical route for moving goods, linking communities, and supporting a thriving tourism industry in the region. The proposed project would contribute to a safer and more reliable connection between Victoria and Duncan.
The Sackum Overhead Bridge is located on Highway 1, approximately 22 km east of Lytton and 13 km south of Spences Bridge. The bridge is approaching the end of its design life, and the replacement of the bridge will address safety concerns and projected user needs
This project will provide a new bridge over the railway tracks on Highway 3, two kilometres east of Jaffray, and a new bridge crossing Big Sand Creek, approximately 2.5 kilometres east of Jaffray.

The Dewdney Bridge across Nicomen Slough on Highway 7 (Lougheed Highway), approximately 8 km east of Mission, is being replaced with an improved crossing and upgraded intersections at both approaches.

This project will upgrade a four-kilometre segment of Highway 7 between Maple Ridge and Mission. It will widen from 266th Street to 287th Street in Maple Ridge from an undivided two-lane highway to four lanes.

The Highway 17 Keating Cross Road “Flyover” Overpass Project will allow vehicles to travel this busy corridor more safely and efficiently, helping keep local businesses competitive and promote regional economic growth.
The Highway 17A crossing over Highway 99 was damaged on July 18, 2023, when struck by an over height vehicle. The repairs have been completed and traffic is now fully reinstated on the overpass after final inspections were completed on March 28.”
We are replacing two Kicking Horse River bridges with wider, higher, climate-resilient bridges.
This project consists of widening approximately 1.1km of Highway 97 and intersection improvements at Racing Road and Quesnel-Hydraulic Road.
The Lillooet Station Bridge project has been replaced with a modern two-lane structure and embankment protection. Paving is underway.

The proposed new North Cowichan Active Transportation Overpass Project will provide a safe pedestrian crossing over Highway 1 between Beverly St. and James St./York Rd. in North Cowichan on Vancouver Island.
112th Street over Highway 99 in Delta was impacted by an over height load on December 28, 2023.
The Quesnel North-South Interconnector is a proposed long-term transportation improvement that would increase safety and significantly reduce congestion, allowing commercial vehicles to avoid the downtown core.
This section of highway was closed Aug. 28, 2023 because of a rockslide when approximately 3,000 cubic metres of material came down.
Highway 97 is generally OPEN to two lanes of traffic, one in each direction, subject to short scheduled and unscheduled closures.
This project will develop a new Commercial Vehicle Inspection Station (CVIS) just east of Terrace to replace the old inspection station displaced by the Highway 16 & 37 Roundabout.
Baxter Bridge is on Trinity Valley Road, approximately 11 kilometres east of Enderby.

The Lions Gate Bridge is a vital transportation corridor, provides access to key tourist destinations, and is used by on average 60,000 drivers per day. Keeping this corridor safe and in good working order is a primary objective for the project.

This project will include the rehabilitation and recoating of the Old Skeena Bridge, located 650m northwest of the junction of Highway 16 and 37. The bridge spans the Skeena River and was the original structure that linked the City of Terrace and the community of Thornhill.
Taft Creek bridge on Highway 37 is located between Meziadin Junction and Bell ll. The bridge requires a new concrete deck and repairs to Pier 3 to maintain safety, reliability and extend the life of the crossing.
Taylor Bridge spans the Peace River on Highway 97 between Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, near the community of Taylor. Engineering work has begun to identify options for a long-term solution for the aging bridge that will serve the region for decades to come.

Willow River Bridge is located on Upper Fraser Road, approximately 37 km north east of Prince George. The current single lane structure will be replaced with a modern two-lane bridge.
COMPLETED - The Simon Fraser Bridge Rehabilitation Project on Highway 97 extends the life of this highway connection for people in and around Prince George.
COMPLETED - The Highway 14 - Corridor Improvements program contributes to a safer and more reliable connection between the Veterans Memorial Parkway in Langford, west through the communities of Sooke and Jordan River, and all the way to Port Renfrew.

COMPLETED - The Hagensborg Bridge project replaced a two jump span with a single-span concrete girder. It crosses the Bella Coola River on Salloompt Road, just east of Bella Coola off of Highway 20.

COMPLETED - Quick Bridge spans the Bulkley River in Quick, British Columbia approximately 25-kilometers south of Smithers, BC. The bridge connects Quick East Road on the north and Quick Station Road on the south and is located approximately 3-kilometers south of Highway 16.
