Cessation of Shredding Services During Interregnum
Stericycle (aka Shred-it) has already been informed and instructed in advance that they are to cease collection services for document shredding during the interregnum for all Ministries of the Provincial Government (the Courts are exempt and may continue to shred confidential documents as necessary).
Ministry account holders do NOT need to contact Stericycle to have collection services temporarily halted as Stericycle has already been informed which accounts are to cease and which are exempt (Courts). The cessation order does NOT apply to Broader Public Sector entities and services to any of those account holders will continue as normal.
Once the Order by the Head of the Public Service is issued after the election that shredding services may resume, which may be 30 days after the writ is issued or as many as 60 days (this has not yet been provided), then Stericycle will be informed directly by the Province, so individual Ministry account holders will NOT need to contact Stericycle to have their services restored either.
